Kalob made my heart melt...

Wed, 07/16/2008 - 01:39

This is Kalob…  He is a super good kid who lives down the mountain from me.  Kalob reminds me a lot of myself to the point where I have even started casually calling him “Mini-me.”  I feel very fortunate to have a friend like him in my life…  A few days ago, on his 9th birthday, Kalob gave me a stack of his gift money to put towards my International Triathlon for Kids journey.  He gave it to me when we were at a friend’s wedding.  I had just gotten out of the water from a long tiring swim fighting a strong current (the wedding was at the beach).  I still had my wetsuit on and was a bit wobbly.  When Kalob stuck the envelope in my wet hand I couldn’t believe it.  I was so touched that I didn’t quite know how to really respond.  It hasn’t left my mind.  I still can’t even believe it, but all I know is that it has been making my heart feel too kind and fuzzy ever since.  It totally overwhelmed me when he gave it to me, and it still does just in thought.  It is one of the most touching things anyone has ever done for me…  Wuuuuuuuu—Haaaaaaa… Kalob rules maaaan!!!  Thanks so much Kalob…I love yuh buddy!!!

**Hey Kalob…maybe your parents will let me come over to sleep out on your new trampoline with you.  Honey Bear (my doggie) won’t let any of the roaming bears come near us when we’re outside sleeping.  That'd be kind forsure huh?!?

(Kalob and Hailey are the same age and have been like brother and sister for their entire lives.)
