McLaughlin Printers and Stationers

The first thing I have to say is that this is a loooong overdue entry on my blog...  Sorry Pat!

I spend a lot of time in Pat's store on Baker Street in Nelson (McLaughlin's Printers and Stationers).  I have been going there for years for one thing or another.  Everybody in the store are super nice people who are very helpful as well.  Pat kick's ass though...Aside from being a super good guy, he's into Neil Young...Sweeeeeeet... 

The night before I was heading for the Vancouver marathon at the start of May my printer broke.  That was a bummer "cause I needed to put together a bunch of bio-kits to bring with me for the Sponsorship Expo at the race.  In a half panic on the morning I was supposed to leave I phoned the store. 

Me:  "Hello, is this Pat?"

Pat:  "Sure is!"

Me:  "Sweet...Hey Pat, it's Steve the Neil Young/triathlon guy."

Pat:  "Hey Neil Young/triathlon/newspaper guy...I just saw your article in the paper.  It was a great one."

Me:  "Sweet...Thanks...I'm desperate for your help"

I told Pat the direness of my situation, and he simply said, "Come on in and we'll help you out."  He ended up printing off a whack of stuff for me to put together a bunch of my bio-kits for possible sponsorship and the like.  He did it for now charge...  "REALLY!!!  You RULE!  Thanks so kindly!"

Pat is very much a big reason why I got some of my bigger sponsors.
